Jim McClurg is the president of Technical Development Resources Company, a consulting and investment firm in Lincoln, Neb. Jim is a past member of the University of Nebraska Board of Regents and chairman of that board, and also serves on the board of directors for Assurity Life Insurance of Lincoln, the Nebraska Medical Center Hospital, Omaha, Neb., the University Technology Development Corporation of Lincoln, and The Smithers Group of Akron, Ohio. He is the Chairman of Cancer Center Development Corporation of Omaha. Jim recently retired from his position as the senior vice president and chief scientific officer of MDS Pharma Services.
Mike Dunlap is the chairman and founder of Nelnet (NYSE: NNI), headquartered in Lincoln, Neb. Nelnet is one of the leading education planning and education finance companies in the U.S. Mike is currently a member of the board of directors for Union Bank and Trust Company, and also serves as a director and co-president of Farmers & Merchants Investment, Inc., the parent of Union Bank and Trust Company. Mike serves on Lincoln’s 2015 Vision Group, which is actively involved in promoting the development of Nelnet’s and Hudl’s hometown.
Jeff Raikes is the former chief executive officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he led the foundation’s efforts to promote equity for all people around the world. During his more than five years there, Jeff set strategic priorities, oversaw significant growth of the organization, and facilitated relationships with key partners. In 2011 he was named the Puget Sound Business Journal’s Executive of the Year.
With his wife, Tricia, Jeff now co-leads the Raikes Foundation, which they founded in 2002 with a mission to empower young people to transform their lives. Based in Seattle, the Raikes Foundation’s priorities are preventing and ending youth homelessness in King County; improving the quality of after school programs in Washington State; and helping students across the country develop “student agency” - the academic mindsets and learning strategies that have been demonstrated to advance achievement. Jeff and Tricia have committed to significantly increase the foundation's grant-making capacity over the next decade.
Before joining the Gates Foundation, Jeff was a member of Microsoft's senior leadership team, which sets overall strategy and direction for the company. Jeff was president of the Microsoft Business Division and oversaw the Information Worker, Server & Tools Business and Microsoft Business Solutions groups. He previously served as group vice president of the Worldwide Sales and Support Group, where he was responsible for providing strategic leadership for Microsoft's sales, marketing, and service initiatives. Before that, he served as senior vice president of Microsoft North America.
Steve Bornstein is the current Board Chair of the V Foundation for Cancer Research, an organization he founded in 1993 alongside legendary coach Jim Valvano. Prior to joining Hudl’s Board of Directors, he served as President and CEO of the NFL Network, President of ABC, and Chairman, President and CEO of ESPN.
During his 22 years with ESPN, Steve played a pivotal role in the creation of several programs and affiliates, including SportsCenter, ESPN2, and ESPN Classic, as well as ESPN.com. As Executive Vice President of Media for the NFL, Bornstein launched NFL Network, NFL RedZone and NFL Sunday Ticket. He oversaw all negotiations with the nation’s largest television providers, ultimately reaching more than 72 million homes.
A native of Fair Lawn, N. J. and graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Steve now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and four children.
Nick Drake is Google’s VP Global Marketing, CMO Platforms and Ecosystems. He previously worked at T-Mobile as EVP of Marketing and Experience. Prior to T-Mobile, Nick served as the Global Chief Marketing Officer of Quiksilver, Roxy, and DC Shoes for Quiksilver, Inc. From 2009 to 2013 he was the Managing Director of advertising agency TBWA\Chiat\Day, Los Angeles. He held various positions within Adidas Global Brand Marketing and Global Sports Marketing divisions from 2003 until 2009.
Nick also acted as an advisor to First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” initiative, was a speaker at the OECD, and served on the boards of various technology startups. Prior to his executive career, Nick was a former professional rugby player and England Sevens team representative.
Endre Holen has served as a top advisor for some of the world’s largest companies. Until recently, he was a Senior Partner at McKinsey and Company, the world’s leading management consulting firm. In his 30 years as a consultant, he successfully led McKinsey’s global Tech Media and Telecom practice. At McKinsey, he helped CEOs change their companies—working in large cost, revenue, portfolio and performance transformations globally. His experience crosses all parts of a company’s value chain—from sourcing and supply chain to product strategy, development, and engineering to sales and marketing to the broader strategy around growth.
Endre is now an executive coach for C-level executives at Fortune 1000 companies. He is also on the board of Nordic Semiconductor, a public company listed on the Norwegian stock exchange, and is the senior advisor for Antler North America, a global accelerator and incubator for entrepreneurs.
Endre was trained as a structural engineer in his native Norway. He received his undergraduate degree in computer science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and his MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
Jodi Uecker has worked as an executive at the forefront of the technology industry for over 25 years. She successfully brings a holistic approach to leadership, balancing organization development and growth, while repeatedly delivering business results. Throughout her experience at Great Plains Software, Microsoft, Sage and state government she has embraced the core values of transparency, growth and leadership.
Uecker played an essential role in the success of Great Plains Software which resulted in an acquisition by Microsoft. While at Great Plains Software she held both operational and leadership positions, culminating as Chief Operating Officer. Through her efforts at the startup, Great Plains Software grew into a 2,000 team member company and was named multiple times as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work for in America,” all while delivering business solutions, through a business partner channel, to thousands of customers worldwide.
After leading Great Plains Software's Microsoft integration in 2001, Uecker served as a Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Business Solutions division. Since her retirement in 2004, she has served as President of Sage Business Solutions and interim President of Sage North America.
Most recently Uecker has served as Chief Operating Officer for Governor Burgum of North Dakota, driving organizational, process and systems improvements across state agencies through the engagement and leadership of the Governor’s Cabinet.
Phil Meicler rejoined Bain Capital in 2020 as a Managing Director of Bain Capital Tech Opportunities. He initially joined Bain Capital in 2005 where he worked across the software and industrial verticals as a member of the North American Private Equity team until 2012. From 2012 through 2019, he worked at Hellman & Friedman where he was a Partner focused on the application software and retail sectors.
Phil received an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar. He graduated phi beta kappa with a BS in economics from Duke University.
David Graff is the CEO of Hudl. He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with an undergraduate degree and MBA from the Jeffrey S. Raikes School in Computer Science and Management. An Omaha, Neb., native, David also serves on the Raikes School Advisory Board.
John Wirtz is the Chief Product Officer of Hudl. He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with an undergraduate degree and MBA from the Jeffrey S. Raikes School in Computer Science and Management. A Blue Springs, Mo. native, John also serves on the Young Alumni Board for the College of Business.
Clay is general partner and co-founder of Speedway Properties and is the President of Speedway Motors. Clay graduated with honors from Stanford University with a B.A. in economics and an M.S. in industrial engineering and engineering management. Prior to re-joining Speedway, Clay worked at the Booz Allen & Hamilton consulting firm in New York City and at the Hellman & Friedman investment banking firm in San Francisco. Clay is active throughout Nebraska, having served on dozens of community and state-wide boards. He currently serves as Chairman of the Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Commission.
Brian Kaiser is the CTO of Hudl. A Overland Park, Kan. native, Brian graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a computer engineering degree from the Jeffrey S. Raikes School in Computer Science and Management. In 2012, he was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the sports category, and was joined by co-founders David Graff and John Wirtz on Inc. Magazine’s 30 Under 30 list in 2010.
